She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth "Bud" Burns and Ellen McGraw Burns; her husband Raymond V. Swearingen; and her brother Kenneth Burns Jr.. She is survived by: her children, John Bickerstaff (Johnna), Melissa Kell (Eric), Brandy Waide (Chris), Tiffany Hissam (Brian) and Amanda Swearingen; her grandchildren, Dylan (Casey), Sydney (Steven), Ashleigh (Jarrod), Nathan (Hillery), Bailey, Tracer, Jaedyn, Jered and Colt; and her great grandchildren, Riley, Landon of Aaliyah, TJ, Reese and Tatum.
