He was predeceased by : his parents, Bob Shroades and Virginia Bennet Shroades; and his former life partner Betsy Price Shroades. He is survived by : his wife Arlinda Wright Shroades; his children, Roger Shroades Jr. (Tammy Snider) of Tuscarawas, OH. and Melissa "Missy" Gibson (Joe) of Owenton, KY.; his grandchildren, Shiana Snider, Arielle Shroades, Rachel Thurber (Trenton Cooke), Colleen Copsy and Taylor Thurber; and his great grandchildren, Kai James, Haley Aline Reynolds, Connor Thurber, Oliver Cooke and Felicity Copsy.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 24th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Arner Funeral Chapel (607 Carolina Ave, Chester, WV 26034). A funeral service was held on Monday, June 24th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
