He was predeceased by: his parents, Sophia Dobies and Thomas Runkel; his wife Kayla Runkel; and his siblings, Ronald Runkel, Loretta Keen and Dorothy Bever.
He is survived by: his children, Allison Quering (Barie) of Atlasburg, PA and David Runkel (Roshelle) of Alpharetta, GA; his sister Joyce (Bill) Shreve; his grandchildren, Amanda Runkel, Madison Runkel, Alexis Shick, Heather Bennett (Cameron), Evan Robert Quering and Lacy Quering; and his great grandchildren, Rosie, Graham and Meredith Bennett.
