He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Cowherd and Mildred Sheets Cowherd. He is survived by: his children, Robert Irwin Cowherd, Steven Baines Cowherd (Katie) of Shelbyville, Merle Vogtlin (Joseph) of Princeton and James Jeffrey Cowherd (Andria) of Louisville, KY.. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
