He is survived by: his sisters, Carol Martin and Ella Wansley; his children, Monica Ashford of Charleston, Brian Tyler of Indianapolis, IN, Melvin Ashford of Cleveland, OH, Nita Witten (Ahmed) of Dunbar and Michelle Dunlap of Charleston; and his grandchildren, Malik Witten, Maliha Witten, Brian Tyler, Jr., Martinas "JoJo" Tyler, Brianna Tyler, Nasira Morris and Jayson Morris-Dunlap. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
