He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ardith Chambers of Cincinnati, OH, Joy DuVaul of San Jose and James A. Smedley of Columbus, OH.. He is survived by: his wife Rosetta Veal Smedley; his son Kenneth Brian Smedley of Monument; and his daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Phuong of Saskatchewan, Canada.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church Trustee Board, 1530 Third Ave., Charleston, WV 25387.
