He is survived by: his wife Betty Rae Sims; his daughters, Elizabeth Gaucher (Jamie) of Hamilton, VA and Carol Spann (Bryant) of Wayland, MA; his grandchildren, Conrad Spann, Hope Spann and Clarin Gaucher; his brother-in-law Herchiel Sims, Jr. (Sherry) of Kiawah Island, SC; his niece Kirsten Dean (Bob) of Laurinburg, NC; his nephew Bradford Sims (Angela) of Charleston, WV; his great-niece Zoey Sims; and his great-nephews, Shepherd Sims and Jennings Dean.
