She was predeceased by: her parents, Jake Vassel and Minnie Green Vassel; her husband Dr. Paul West; her brothers, Jake Jr., Billy and Freddy Lee Vassel; and her great grandchildren, Myles Nathanial Nix and Elliott Myles McGhee.
She is survived by: her brother Charles Vassel of Midwest City, OK; her children, Gail McGhee (Chris) of Fredericksburg, VA and Thomas Schoolcraft (Debby) of Charleston, WV; her grandchildren, Lindsay Dingman (Scott) of Walkersville, MD, Heather McGhee of Alexandria, VA., Brenton McGhee (Jessica) of Walkersville, MD and Justin Schoolcraft of Kansas City, KS; her niece Elizabeth Harvey of Jodie, WV; her nephews, Christopher, Brian Vassel of Midwest City, OK, Joseph and Luther Payne of Jodie, WV; and her close friends, Wanda Reid and Russell Miller.
