It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Thomas Gardner of Charleston, West Virginia, who passed away on January 30, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jo Royer Thomas and Frank A Thomas, Sr.; her husband William H Gardner, Sr.; her daughter Margaret "Meg" Gardner Sothen; her daughter-in-law Jeanne Vandall Gardner; and her brothers, Frank A Thomas, Jr. (Dorothy) and John L. Thomas (Ruth).
She is survived by: her son William H. Gardner, Jr.; her son-in-law William Sothen; her children, Frances Hartman (Robert) of Charleston, WV, Martha Ferguson (John) of St. Augustine Beach, FL and Daniel T. Gardner (Karen) of Apopka, FL; and her family, Lexie Leonard, Tyeann Wyrick, Stacey Gill and Stacy Clement. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews she loved.
