He was predeceased by: his mother Nancy Akers; his significant other Debbie Baire; and his sister Tina Estep Bowles. He is survived by: his sons, Scott Akers of Dunbar, WV and Christopher Akers of South Charleston, WV; his granddaughter Khloe Akers; his siblings, Denise Stratton and Scooter Akers; his granddaughter Ally; and also, Becca Baire and Jessica Baire. He is also survived by five nephews; numerus cousins.
