He was predeceased by: his siblings, Evelyn and Alton; his brothers-in-law, Wilfred Reiland of New Braunfels and Lloyd Reiland of Hamilton, MS; and his parents-in-law, Helen Reiland (Behrendt) and Herbert Reiland.

He is survived by: his wife Moyra; his sons, Randall Tilkens of Greenbelt, MD, Karl Tilkens (Guille) of New Braunfels and Marie Tilkens (Zachary) of Riverdale Park, MD; his great grandchild Perry James Tilkens of Riverdale Park, MD.; his sister-in-law Linda Reiland; his niece Lisa Lochridge (Stephen) of Hamilton, MS.; and also Reverend Arthur Holm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hope Hospice, the New Braunfels Evening Lions Club, or a charity of your choice.
