He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Summers and Martha Summers. He is survived by: his significant other Garnet Taylor Summers; his siblings, Lilly "Violet" Carpenter, Bernice Buzzard and Sinnette Summers; his grandsons, Samuel and Daniel Summers; his brother Dale Summers (Carolyn) of Sissonville; and his children, Randall Summers (Melissa) of South Charleston, Cheryl Sprigle (Ralph Michael) of Charleston, Elizabeth "Betsy" Lawton of Charleston, Fran Perry (Tom) of South Charleston, Kaye Townsend (Roger) of Charleston and Lana Ward (Todd) of North Carolina. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
