Richard Lee Howard Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Lee Howard (Charleston, West Virginia), who passed away on July 28, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sabe Isaac and Rose Mary Howard; his sister Carolyn Howard Stevens; and his aunts and uncles, Ammaline Howard, Rosaline Howard Brody of Charleston, Victor N. Howard of Florida and Joseph George Howard of Charleston.
He is survived by: his siblings, Dr. Edward E. Howard, Jolene Howard, Janet M. Howard, Margaret Howard Teeter (Andrew) and Sabrina Howard Stump (James); his nephew Dr. Matthew D. Stump; his nieces, Dr. Jacqueline H. Stump and Elizabeth Stevens Bloch (Tom); and his great-nephew Thomas M. Bloch III.
Richard's wishes were to have a large gathering of friends and family for a celebration of life, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and for the safety and health of family and friends, there will be a private funeral with immediate family only officiated by the Reverend Father Joseph Hazar, Dean, and the V. Reverend Olaf Scott of St. George Orthodox Cathedral.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. George Orthodox Cathedral Foundation, the CAMC Cancer Center, 3416 MacCorkle Avenue, SE, Charleston, WV; Sloan Kettering Memorial Cancer Center in New York City, NY, or to the Richard Lee Howard, D.D.S. Memorial Scholarship Fund, WVU School of Dentistry via the WVU Foundation.
