He was predeceased by: his parents, John Starcher and Garnet Starcher; and his brothers, Larry and Johnny. He is survived by: his sister Joyce Cunningham (Randy) of Culloden; his sons, Brian Starcher of Sissonville and Adam Maynard of Charleston; his granddaughter Destiny Maynard of Charleston; and his close friend Nelene Maynard of Charleston.
