He was predeceased by: his parents, James D. Fields and Velma Skeens; his son Orville D. Fields; his siblings, Hazel Goff, James and Robert Fields; and his children-in-law, Charlene Mae Ashley, Dale Haynes and Thomas Rieser.
He is survived by: his wife Mabel Berry Fields; his daughters, Catherine Sovine (David) of Charleston, Donna Newhouse (David) of Quinton, VA, Brenda Haynes of Charleston, Mary Cox (Greg) of Bumpass, VA and Martha Vance (Jon) of Clendenin, WV; and his brother Elbert "Butch" Fields. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
