It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Opal Mae (Pence) Shamblin of Charleston, West Virginia, who passed away on November 18, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband William A. Shamblin; her parents, Roy Herby Pence Sr. and Lillie Zena Batten Pence; and her siblings, Roland, Wilford, Carl, Harold and Mary A. Bonham.

She is survived by: her children, Phyllis Shamblin Stapler of Charleston and Michael Dean Shamblin of Arnold, Maryland; her grandchildren, Rodman Stapler (Alisa), Brian Stapler (Shannon), Matthew Shamblin (Leslie), Ashley Shamblin (Justin) and Tristan Cole Shamblin; her great grandchildren, Joshua, Abigail, Adam, Madaline Stapler, Caleb Alderman, Jonathon and Ailena Bezek; and her brothers, Paul D. Pence of Murfreesboro, TN and Toy Herby Pence Jr. of Charleston.
