She was predeceased by: her father Lomer Kirk; her husband Mallie H. Samms Jr.; her daughter Connie Winters; her grandsons, Jamie Easley and Justin Samms; and her siblings, Jeanette Pauley, Susie Kirk, Sidney, Lewis, Charles and Norvel "Jap" Kirk.

She is survived by: her children, Trina Walker (Johnny) of Marmet, Vickie Samms of Charleston, Melinda Snodgrass (Jay) of Marmet, Ronnie Samms (Teresa) of Charleston, Donnie Samms (Velma) of Pennsylvania and Richard Samms (Tammy) of Sissonville; her grandchildren, Brooksanna Bell, Shawnda Eckerd, Travis Walker, Josh Samms, Annie Pierce, Danielle Radcliff, Ashley Zuker, Dustin Samms, Ryan Dominquez, Jesse, Aaron, Daniel Samms, Haley and Mallory Snodgrass; her sister Delores Graley of Emmons; and her caregiver Kay Butcher of Chesapeake. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
