He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Donald Smith and Gloria Smith (Thornberry). He is survived by: his wife Lynn (Walsh); his daughters, Jennifer Lynn Smith and Laura Ann Smith (Ryan Marino); and his siblings, Mitchell Smith (Tracy), Coleen Wells (Tim) and Candace Ross (Everett). He is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and pets.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mike's memory to Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association, the Kanawha State Forest Foundation, or HospiceCare.
