He was predeceased by: his father Elmer Young; his daughter Debra Young Taylor; his grandson Adam Marshall; and his siblings, Charles, Larry Young, Delores Williams, Freda Garten and Pauline Proctor.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn; his daughters, Lora Young (Bob Russell) and Pamela Young (Dwight Lanham) of Rand; his grandchildren, Seth Taylor of Charleston and Whitney Backus (Jason); and his great grandchild Logan Backus of Shrewsbury.
