She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Jennings and Leoda Smith Jennings; and her siblings, Dimp Jennings, Conn Jennings, Bernard Jennings, Levi Jennings, Mary Osborne, Betty Wolfe, Peggy Nunley and Patricia McCormick.
She is survived by: her sons, Eric Shafer of Ohio and Rodney Shafer of Florida; her brother Smith Jennings; her close friend Grover Keener; her grandchildren, AJ, Leigh Ann and Levi; and her great grandchildren, Paisley Bates, Luke and Jaden Shafer.
