He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Guy and Laura May Roberts (Welker). He is survived by: his sister Almyra Jane Sigman (Roberts). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Joe's memory to the North Charleston Baptist Church, 1009 Woodward Drive, Charleston, WV 25387.
