He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Comisky and William G. Comisky; his wife Jane Elizabeth Comisky; and his siblings, Walter, Henry, Martin, William, Richard and Martha.
He is survived by: his children, Janemarie Gabriel (Gabe) of Colbert, Georgia, William Merrill Comisky (Beth) of West Jefferson and Martha C. Ferrell (Rob) of Charleston, WV; his sister MaryAnn; his grandchildren, Jennifer Stancill (Roy), Brian Comisky (Michele), Katie Warpenburg (Josh), Laura Comisky, John Ferrell (Ann) and Joseph William; and his great grandchildren, Skylar, Kylan, Sierra, Campbell, Jackson, Davis, William James "Liam" and Hazel Jane.
