He is survived by: his sisters, Macel Shaffer of Charleston, Inza Morton of Charleston, Mildred Crowder of Charleston and Carol Vaughan (Suzie) of South Carolina; his wife Dollie Pittman; and his stepchildren, Ronnie Short, Connie Hairston, Bonnie Hudson and Reverend Donnie "Okie" Short. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
