John Deroo Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Deroo of Charleston, West Virginia, who passed away on November 13, 2020. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Mary of Virginia; his grandchildren, Meghan Millat (Adam), Michael Darcy (Nora), Rowan, Noah Jane, Kevin DeRoo and John DeRoo; his great grandchildren, Charesa Donahue and Julianne DeRoo; his sister-in-law Shirley Burke-DeRoo; his nieces and nephews, Barbara, Paul, Beverly, Loretta, Margaret, Jim, John, Marylyn, Philip, Kenneth and Mary Frances; his parents, Dorothy Wilson De Roo and Paul Cyriel De Roo; his brother Paul Wesley DeRoo, Sr.; his cousin Cyriel Robrecht; his close friend Bill Crockett; and his daughter Peg Nagem.
Due to the current pandemic and resulting health risks, John's family will have a private funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Father John Finnell officiating, followed by a brief, private burial service in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in John's honor to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and/or VFW American Legion Post 73, P.O. Box 582, St. Albans, WV 25177 "In honor of SP3 John L. DeRoo, US Army Veteran, Korean Conflict".
