With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joann G. Birurakis of Charleston, West Virginia, who passed away on March 9, 2025 at the age of 89. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joann G. Birurakis to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Korakakis and Argiro Korakakis; her son William Jr.; her daughters-in-law, Beverly and Marnie; and her brothers, Demetri and Haralambos.
She is survived by: her husband William Birurakis; her sons, Michael (Cynthia), Gregory (Jacqueline) and Stephen; her daughter-in-law Saundra; her grandchildren, Leah, William III, Evia, Alexandria, Maria, Jacob and Joslyn; and her siblings, Niko and Nichi.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Greek Orthodox Church (1105 Quarrier St, Charleston, WV 25301). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
