He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert H. Young and Margaret Stimpson Young; and his sister Vicky Priddy. He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his sons, Patrick (Wanda), Jerry and Steven (Vu); his grandchildren, Caitlin Lang (Grant), Sarah Mullins (Gary), Justin (Kaitlyn), Randy Jackson (Tashsa) and David Jackson; his great grandchildren, Thomas Moeller, Jaxon Mullins, Jaycob Jackson, Maddie Jackson, Colton Jackson and AJ Jackson; and his siblings, Judy A. Cobbs (Ed), Faith Y. Young, James E. Mullins and Randy M. Young.
