He is survived by: his siblings, Leroy, Elizabeth, Clarence, Wilbur, Claude, Ruby, Beatrice Walker, Brenda Howard and Thomas; his children, Michele, Marilyn, Robin, Carolyn, Kenni, Thea, Roi and Justin; his grandchildren, Brian, Nicolas, T. Mychal, Christopher, Autumn, Monique, Erinn, Jessica, Emile, Monica, Cameron, Roi and Keenan; and his great grandchildren, Jayson, Jamil, Massai, Satchel, Sidney, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Asante and Seji.

Contributions can be made to the West Virginia State University Foundation, through the James T. Johnson Scholarship Fund, established to fund education opportunities for students of WVSU who are from the St. Paul Baptist Church.
