He was predeceased by: his parents, Hershel Halstead and Ruth Nelson Halstead; and his sister Jeannene Francis. He is survived by: his wife Marcia Halstead; and his siblings, Wayne Halstead (Donna) of Summersville, Glenda Cooper of Columbus, OH and Nadine Smith (James) of Elkview. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
