He was predeceased by: his daughter Lois Jean Taylor; and his siblings, Delford, Elton, Matthew, Clifford, Oral, Joe, Ada Clay, Sybil Clay, Naomi Pence, Mildred Mullins and Tessie Myers.
He is survived by: his parents, Arthur Milton Taylor and Dovie Florence Harper Taylor; his wife Emma Rucker Taylor; his daughters, Connie Bair-Midkiff (Jim) and Rhonda Davis (Mike); his grandchildren, Heather Bair, Jordan Davis and Justin Davis; and his sister Garnet Summers. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
