He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Mason Melton and Alberta Smith Melton. He is survived by: his wife Linda K. Melton of Charleston, WV; his sons, Howard Mason Melton, III of Florida and Philip Douglas Melton (Patty) of Georgia; his stepdaughters, Lisa Fisher (Vic) of Charleston and Jennifer Westfall (Tom) of Charleston; his grandchildren, Brandy Melton, Jessica Melton, Carson Melton, Brice Melton, Zachary Ray, Kathryn Ray, Dalton Westfall and Sydney Westfall; and his great grandchild Jackson Weston.
Because of the Covid-19 epidemic, a private military service will be held at a later date.
