It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Howard D. Bailes of Charleston, West Virginia, who passed away on February 13, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Emma Bailes Erdely; his wife Edeltraud "Trudy" Bailes; his stepfather Frank Erdely; and his brother Tommy Bailes. He is survived by: his children, Jess Bailes (Tina) and Elizabeth DelPrato (Dave); his stepbrother Frank Erdely (Sharon); his sister-in-law Renate Whaley; his grandsons, Justin Bailes (Erin), Travis Bailes (Misti) and Jonathan McDaniel; his stepgrandchildren, Laura DelPrato and Scott DelPrato (Veronica); and his caregivers, Linda Branham, Bethany Kessel and Stephanie Hicks. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and several dear cousins; nieces; and nephews.
