He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude H. Mathews, Sr. and Sadie M. Burdette Mathews; his brother Claude H. Mathews, Jr.; and his sister-in-law Irene Berry Mathews. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Mathews; his children, Larry, Randy Mathews (Kathy) of Cross Lanes and Karen Mathews (Eric) of Sarasota, FL.; his grandchildren, Amy, Kelly, Kristin (Mark), Mark and Jason; and his great grandchildren, Marlee, Holland, Judah and Jace.
