He is survived by: his wife Melanie McGraw Carpenter; his son Jeff Carpenter (Tammy); his grandchildren, Danny Carpenter, Thorne Hilton, Olive and Luci Hilton; and his brothers, Jack Carpenter and Bill Carpenter. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
