Franklin D. McCoy Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Franklin D. McCoy (Charleston, West Virginia), who passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sullivan McCoy, I and Callie Caroline Garrison McCoy; his wife Ellen McCoy; his sister Clara Nichols; his brother-in-law Don Nichols; his brother Lawrence McCoy; and his siblings-in-law, Johnny Angius, Junior Angius, Frank Angius, Sam Angius and Trace Sykes.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne McCoy (Carla) of Charleston, Carolyn Sue Devitt of Charleston and Charles S. II McCoy (Leora) of St. Albans; his siblings-in-law, Rose Hayes (Jim) of Radford, VA, Mary Webb (Harold), Patty Wooten of Oak Hill, Josie Wriston (Artie) of Oak Hill, Jackie Angius of Oak Hill, Brenda and Sandy Angius; and his grandchildren, Elissia Devitt, Jeremy McCoy (Tressie), Zach McCoy (Trinity), Alex Martin (Alan), Charles "Chaz" McCoy III (Meen) and Ella McCoy (Garrett). He is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kanawha City Baptist Church (4500 Venable Ave, Charleston, WV 25304). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM and at 2:30 PM.
