She was predeceased by: her son Jonathan A. Braxton; and her parents, John Smith and Leontine Smith of Rand, WV. She is survived by: her daughter Tameka Smith; her granddaughters, Takeiya Smith and Nkeiru Okafor; and her son Michael Smith. She is also survived by five sisters, two brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in law, and cousins.
