He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Hill and Wanda Hill. He is survived by: his children, Annie-Lori Forrey (Shawn) of New Hampshire, Earl R. Hill of Red House and Erica Hill of South Charleston; his grandchildren, Tyler Forrey, Bethany Forrey and Thomas Tucker; and his siblings, Joyce Murphy, Dixie McKay, Wanda "Crickette" Ratliff and Curtis Hill. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
