He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" Richard and Beatrice Leah Ashby (Overholt); and his brother Wade. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Ashby; his children, Heather Elizabeth Waters (Dustin) of Crystal River, FL, Brianna Leann Hall (David) of Cadillac, Dillion Scott Ashby (Madison Evans) of Marion and Katlynn Elizabeth Ashby (Vonza Abney) of Woodbridge, VA; his grandchildren, Kylee, Krissy, Dusty Jr., Elijah and Piper; and his siblings, Michael, Sally (Bill), John (Bonnie), David (Cindy), Janet, Arthur, Brenda and Calvin (Valerie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.
