He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Hanshaw and Martha Hanshaw; his wife Brenda Kay Hanshaw; his daughter Sherry R. Hanshaw Oldaker; his siblings, James Hanshaw, Donald "Bubby" Hanshaw, Dorothy Cottrell and Larry Hanshaw; and his friend Marshall Williams.
He is survived by: his daughter Shelly Ballard of Charleston; his sisters, Thelma Shreve (Henry) of Charleston and Judy Williams of Charleston; his grandchildren, Chris Oldaker (Liz) of Saint Albans, Ryan Oldaker (Kassidi) of Nitro, Haylie Blankenship (Randy) of Saint Albans and Lindsay Randolph (Christian) of Nitro; and his great grandchildren, Madalyn Randolph, Kayden Randolph, Owen Blankenship and Mara Blankenship. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
