He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Hughes and Minnie Hughes; and his siblings, Paul, Barney, Claude and Mossie Swain.
He is survived by: his wife Alma Lee; his daughters, Kim Hayne (Ed) of Charleston and Lisa Ellars (Danny) of Charleston; and his grandchildren, Micah Ellars (Bethany) of Nashville, TN, Megan Fields (Devin) of St Albans, WV, Laura Abbott (Josh) of Green Bank, WV, Miranda Cox of Richmond, VA and Jamie Dalton (Josh) of Charleston. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
