He was predeceased by: his daughter Kimberly Yanov; his parents, John Yanov and Eloise Stalnaker Yanov; and his brothers, William F. Yanov and John P. Yanov.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Vinson Yanov; his daughter Andrea; his son-in-law Mike Hannah; his daughter Lindsay; his son-in-law Daniel Johnson; his grandchildren, Piper, Vega and Cale; and his sisters, Donna Taylor and Marilyn Dodd. He is also survived by cousins, nephews and nieces.
