He was predeceased by: his parents, Summers James Sr. and Frances Gladys Howard; and his brother Summers James Howard Jr.. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Jakyra Howard and Kaylani Howard; his sons, Charles Panell of Charleston, Eric Howard (Brittany) of North Carolina and Johnathan Smith of Charleston; his siblings, Michael Howard of Winston-Salem, NC, Thelma Smith of Charleston, Susan Howard of Knoxville, TN and Paula Howard of Charleston; and his close friends, Eric Parker, Delores Parker and Vonnetta Potts. He is also survived by 20 grandkids; 5 great grandkids; 4 nieces; 3 nephews; 15 great nieces; 10 great nephews.
