He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Payne and Nettie Belle Payne; his brother Dewey Lee Payne; and his sister-in-law Ruth Payne. He is survived by: his wife Mary Beth Payne; and his siblings, Della Steele (Kenneth) of North Carolina, Wanda Shouldis (Gary) of Gay, Dinah Parsons (Edison) of Ripley, Keith Payne (Lori Beth) of Dunbar, Judy Payne (Glen Aaron) of Charleston and Little Joe. He is also survived by the cat; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association, 1248 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, WV 25311.
