He was predeceased by: his parents, John Franklin Hurt and Lillian Grace Hurt of Charleston; and his siblings, Mary Jane Noonan and John F. Hurt. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hanly Hurt; his children, John Hanly Hurt and Sarah Long; his son-in-law James Long; and his grandchildren, Carrie, Charlie and Grace Long.
