He is survived by: his sons, Darren Burgess (Karen) of Charleston and Steven Burgess (Sarah) of Mt. Pleasant, S. C.; his brother Jim Burgess of South Charleston; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Patrick, Matthew, Evan and Ellie Burgess.
