He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Albert and Estella Thaxton Holmes; and his siblings, James, Clifford, Lawrence, Elwood Holmes and Mary Thaxton.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Holmes of Charleston, Kelly Catlett of Dunbar and Shannon Harper of Charleston; his siblings, Kenneth Holmes (Betty) of Diamond, Ronald Holmes of Charleston, Elizabeth Bostic (Phil) of Charleston and Edith Lacy of Charleston; and his grandchildren, Kevonna, Justin, Ali, McKenzie, Alexis, Kennedi, Cody and Kenny.
