She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter L. James and Goldie James; her son Charles E. Given; and her siblings, Robert, Joseph James, Kathleen Dearien and Edith F. Naylor.

She is survived by: her husband Charles L. Given; her children, Jeanne Shaffer (James) of Elkview and James Given (Diana) of Charleston; and her siblings, Walter L. James Jr. of Blue Creek, Owen Ray James of Elkview and Diana Kutrich of Mansfield, Ohio. She is also survived by four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
