With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Benjamin C. Greene of Charleston, West Virginia, born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, who passed away on April 10, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll "Pete" Greene and Margaret Tucker Greene; and his wife Carol Holmes Greene. He is survived by: his sons, Benjamin C. Greene II of Sissonville and Russell Holmes Greene (Kelly) of Sissonville; his grandchildren, Brittani Carol Greene, Caylee Abigail Greene, Benjamin Carroll Greene III, Sydney Breann Greene and Kaylin Faith Greene; his sister Ann Greene Parsons (Steve) of Kenna, WV; his niece Amber Bramlee; and his caregiver Courtney Banks of Sissonville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The Greene Center, P.O. Box 72, Kenna, WV 25248.

“my deepest sympathy to the family.Ben was a friend for over 40 yrs.His knowledge of the coal business and mine reclamatiion was tops in W.Va. as he and Pete Pitsenbarger started mine reclamation in this state.He was a man of honesty integrity and a sense of humor.His public speaking skills were some of the best I've ever heard.He was a good person who will sadly be missed.Hope to see you on a reclaimed mine site on the other side.”
