He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Baker and Mary Anderson; his daughters, Lorie Jo Anderson and Brenda Faye Stucks; and his siblings, Eloise Mann and Kenny Cline.
He is survived by: his wife Lily M. Ashby; his children, Debra Remsburg (John) of Burkittsville and Merle E. Anderson, Jr. (Christy Brown) of Summit Point, WV; his stepsons, Bobby, Marvin and Billy Ashby; and his siblings, Judy Harnish, Bob, Dick, Mike and Larry Cline.
