It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie Virginia of Charles Town, West Virginia, who passed away on January 12, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William L. Smoot and Theresa Knotts Smoot; her sister Nancy Markee; her brother-in-law Michael McNutt; and her brother Gary Smallwood.
She is survived by: her husband Richard "Wayne" West; her sons, Darrick W. West (Stacy) of Martinsburg, WV and Chad A. West (Faye) of Kearneysville, WV; her grandchildren, Hunter West (Jill), Haley West, Havannah West and Connor West; and her siblings, Ronnie Smoot (Cheryl), Donnie Smoot, Shirley Smoot, Peggy McNutt, Judy O'Bryan (Geoff), Annie Smoot and Debra Parker (Bill).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mission Holiness Tabernacle Church (446 Mission Rd, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
