He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Leroy Hamby and Nellie Virginia Chorpenning; his wife Brenda Kay Wean Hamby; his daughter Virginia Magdelene Hamby; and his siblings, Richard (Terry Hamby) and Joan Lord.
He is survived by: his son Jay Hamby, Jr. (Susan) of Charles Town; his siblings, William, John Hamby and Rhonda Moody; his grandchildren, Jay III (Jillian), Kyla Virginia, Earl Owen (Brittany) and Jayson; and his great grandchild Kennedy Grace.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren.
